Day 123 Norwich 18 miles

I came down off the mountain today with a shoe repairman from Minnesota named Worn Heel. I met him while hitch hiking in from the trail from Rutland. We came off the trail today to find trail magic at someone's house. While we were eating banana bread, the owner of the house, greybeard came out and introduced himself. We were lucky to have found such a warm and accommodating family. Him and his wife, short and sweet, told us they had son who had thru hiked and they had just section hiked the .smokies the week prior with their daughter, who had just returned home from Russia. Short and sweet washed our clothes while we showered and cooked an amazing meal of pasta, omelette and salad. We were spoiled. It was wonderful after so many days of rain. Their daughter, Moxi had spent her last year in Russia and we had a lot of interesting conversations about linguistics and intercultural communication.
