I started out early this morning feeling a bit sheistered by the people at the cabin. Yesterday didn't need to be the 10 mile day that they insisted on. I met Inchworm for the first time and her husband Sherpa for the second time. We started out and had a mucky but rough day.
Hi Gummy Bear (Dianne?) I've been trying to reach out to you for some time, but you've been the hardest to find! Tim (Walker) McElhannon sent me this blog link.
ReplyDeleteRock Steady (Mike) told me your name is Dianne Cook, but no one could remember exactly where you hail from--so it's been hard to contact you.
I am writing a book about Gerry "Inchworm" Largay's story. The book is meant to honor her--she was an amazing lady. The hope is that some people in the future might learn from the book, and will make all the right moves if they are ever lost in true wilderness. Gerry spent a lifetime helping people; I believe she would be happy to know she is continuing to help others.
I have interviewed 13 other hikers who hiked with Gerry, and/or spent time with George. I have even become friends with many of them. The AT breeds community.
I heard you've also done the PCT...amazing!
So please, let's talk; my email is piscatore6@gmail.com
I live in Maine, not far from the AT.

Many thanks!
